We recently had the joy of bringing 7 families back together at Logan Correctional Center in Illinois for a day of connection, laughter, and some really special moments. And we wanted to share a little of what God did!For these moms, being able to provide for their children in even the simplest ways is something they often miss out on while incarcerated. This time, they were able to send their kids back to school with backpacks filled with supplies like binders, notebooks, folders, calculators, and pencils. For many of these moms, it was the first time they had ever been able to provide a backpack and school supplies for their children. What might feel like an ordinary part of parenting to some was an incredibly meaningful moment for these families.

And then there were the little moments that made the day so special:

One little girl received her very first baby doll from her mom.

One woman was reunited with her sister, whom she hadn't seen in four years. They spent time making and painting birdhouses together.

One granddaughter received a Bible from her incarcerated grandmother, something she had been wanting for a long time. Getting to receive it from her grandma made it that much more meaningful.

These are the kinds of moments that remind us why this ministry matters. Behind every prison sentence is a family, a child, a parent, a sibling, or a grandparent who is still deeply loved and deeply missed. And when we create space for these families to reconnect, we're reminded that God is still working, restoring, and bringing hope into places where it's needed so desperately.
