An incarcerated woman led worship with us in WV

The women were so ready to receive all that God had for them, and we got to be a part.

In March, we walked into a federal women's prison in West Virginia for the first time. We honestly didn't know what to expect, but 450 women showed up ready. Ready to worship, ready to receive, just open. By the end of the night, 61 of them had been baptized and 178 had given their lives to Christ. We don't throw those numbers around lightly either. Every single one of them is a story God had already been writing, way before we ever got to be a small part of it.

This particular prison had a choir who had been learning the songs ahead of time. They even came out in robes, which set the tone for the whole night. At one point we pulled a woman named Jamie aside and asked if she'd be willing to come up and lead "Trust in God." She said yes, and when she got on that stage and started singing "He has not failed me yet," something shifted in the room. She kept declaring "I trust Him" over and over, and coming from a woman standing inside a prison, those words carried a different kind of weight. It was a real, full circle moment. A reminder that no matter where you find yourself, no matter what your life looks like right now, He does not fail. You can trust Him.

The night was full of powerful testimonies and worship, but more than anything it felt like an invitation back to hope for women who maybe hadn't felt that in a long time.

This is why we keep showing up to these places. To see redemption become real for people who are in the middle of their hardest chapter and still get to encounter a God who isn't finished with them. A chance at a new life!

Thank you for giving so that we get to be in the room when it happens!
