The gym was FULL. Hundreds of men showed up hungry, and not a single one of them was just killing time. They came for Jesus, and Jesus showed up for them.
Over the two days Pastor Matt Chandler and Pastor Joby Martin preached the gospel bold and unfiltered, and the room came alive. Dozens of men gave their lives to Christ! And then the baptismal opened, and y'all... the men did not wait. They rushed it. 22 men got baptized, leaving the old version of themselves in that water. We will never get used to that!
Can we tell you about Bobby? Four years into his sentence, lots of road still ahead, and today Bobby chose JESUS. His situation didn't change, but Bobby did, and he knows his time is going to look completely different now. Check out his story here.
There was also a man who'd been locked up for ten years, fighting addiction for twenty-five, and he was already weeping before he hit the water. He didn't want an easier life someday. He wanted to be FREE, and he wanted it now. This is what Jesus does. He makes all things new. Here's the thing: we drove away from Bridgeport, but God didn't. He is still in there, still moving, still working in every one of those men.
Will you pray for the men of Bridgeport Prison this week?
The incarcerated men were so excited by what he had to share!
There has never been a greater urgency to reach men and women behind bars. The cycle of generational incarceration is massive, but together we get to do something about it. Whether you choose to give once or monthly, know that your donation is not only helping here on earth, but is changing eternities forever.
